We made a spontaneous trip to Grammy's this past weekend. It was actually our best weekend away with Taya. She did really well in the car, slept all night, and had a blast playing with her big cousin, Jayden.
While we were in Ogallala, Santa was in town.

Baby steps
What a crazy week!
Taya got a new tooth (next to the right front tooth).
Taya discovered the Kleenex box. She HATES getting her nose wiped. This was her revenge.
Taya took her first step last night! It was one small baby step, one giant step toward wearing me out even more! She has taken a few other steps this evening, but she usually flops right down after the small step.
Taya discovered Nima's dog door a few weeks ago and I finally took a picture of her playing with it the other day. She enjoys looking outside and screaming at Nima :).
*Just a side note, a few of these pictures are a little fuzzy. It's not your eyes, it's my photography.

We love Keith Urban
On Thursday, we treated ourselves to a night out with our friends, the Kruse's. Actually, we've had our concert tickets since February. We went to Keith Urban last year and since then I knew I wanted to see him in concert again. We had a VERY exciting night, as you will see below. One of my good friends, Katie Metz, watched Taya for us so it was easy for me to leave her for the evening.
Maria and I enjoying our view from the top. It was Maria's 27th birthday. I have known her for 26.5 years!
A view of opening act Jason Aldean. This is with full zoom on my little camera.

Through a series of events, Maria's husband, Chad, ended up knowing one of the security guards who got us up next to the stage for Keith. It was AWESOME. Here I am next to one of the speakers. Yes it was loud but I thought it would be worse.
Although we were close enough to see Keith, here is a picture of him on the screens. He went out to the middle of the Qwest for about 3 songs and this was during that time. Below this is a picture of Keith up close.
This was his main bass player. He is my "bud". He mainly worked our side of the stage. Keith's band is amazing so it was just as cool to watch them play as it was to watch Keith himself. I ended up getting a guitar pick thrown at me from Jerry. He also saw me plugging my ears at one point, just to reiterate how close we were to the stage.

4th of July weekend
We went to Ogallala to visit Grammy this weekend. We got to see lots of family and ate lots of food. We had a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law, Jillian, and a family BBQ and fireworks in the evening. Taya got to see her cousin Jayden (unfortunately no pictures on my camera of them).
Taya and Jayden got matching 4th of July outfits from Grammy (see below). We went swimming also.

End of June (a little late)
