Mid-August '10

I can't believe as I type this it's already August 18th. We are excited that pre-season football has started and are looking forward to the college season starting. I am also enjoying some cooler temps (mid-80s rather than upper 90s) and much lower humidity. In a few weeks we'll travel to Connecticut to see my mom; my brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and grandma are also flying out so it will be fun to see some family!

Taya got a few later birthday gifts. Below is a package from her God-parents. She was excited to get some mail. :)

Bath time is one of Taya's favorite times of the day. It really wears me out...BUT she gets pretty dirty from eating and playing outside so we do it every night. Bubbles are what makes it FUN!!!

I had an OB appointment today. They're saying 25 weeks along (I think 26) and everything looks great.

I do my glucose tolerance test in 3 weeks. I can't believe I'm that far along! He or she will defintely be here before I know it. Luckily Ethan and I don't feel we have that much to do to prepare so we're not stressing too much.

Taya turns 2!!

This picture is blurry (and out of order) but I had to post it because you can see just how happy Taya is.

What a fun weekend we had!

Grammy arrived on Wednesday to help celebrate Taya's birthday. Thursday night we grilled hamburgers on the charcoal grill and we made s'mores afterward. They were yummy (and messy!).

~24 weeks along. We're getting anxious to meet baby Mann #2.

Thursday night Grammy and I decorated the house so Taya could wake up to her decorations and gifts. We did a Minnie Mouse theme because she loves the show 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse'.

We even found Minnie ears!

I had Friday off so we 3 girls spent the day together then we met Ethan on campus to swim. Taya fell asleep on the way home and slept until about 9:00 p.m. We had a late party via Skype but she was still pretty tired.

Omi sent a few books including Little Critter "Just Me and My Puppy" which was Ethan's when he was little. Taya insisted Ethan read it right away...

We had two computers set up...one to Skype with Omi and Papa and the other for Auntie Emlyn and Cody. It worked pretty well. She was too tired to open all of her gifts but she opened the ones from them and Irma, a friend of Omi's.

A new baby!

Taya had to get 2 shots on Saturday (now she is caught up until she's 4). I told her she needed to pick out some shoes to get ready to go. I went to my bedroom to finish getting ready and when I came out she had her left shoe on and was just about done getting the other shoe on. I was so impressed! They were even on the correct feet!

Doing some coloring with the box of 96 Crayolas from Aunt Erin (thanks Erin...now I have 96 colors to keep track of so they don't end up on my wall, ha ha). Taya loves the large selection.

Taya finished opening her presents today (she actually spread them out over 3 days). She opened this tutu from Grammy (made by my cousin, Katie). Notice the watch on her right hand...it's from Auntie Emlyn. Taya wore it to the mall yesterday and to church today.

We took Grammy back to the airport this afternoon. Taya was wearing a cap like daddy and wanted to help with the suitcase. It was adorable. She rolled it pretty far.

July 2010 comes to a close

What a week we've had! I went back to work on Monday and got to work two days in one of my clinics. They haven't had a dietitian for 2 months so I will be busy for a while but that's the way I like it. Taya had a harder time toward the end of the week...she would cry when we dropped her off but they told me at daycare that she was fine during the day. Yesterday she took a 3.5 hour nap and today a 2.5 hour nap followed by a 1 hour nap not long after that. So she is tired!

We went swimming three times this weekend and got more of our house decorated. We cleaned house in preparation of Grammy's visit and we rearranged our bedroom. It really feels more like home :).

Taya's 2nd birthday is on Friday and she got an early present from Omi and Papa, Grammy and Jarv. A new swingset!

The other morning (like at 7:00 a.m.) Taya grabbed my camera and said "cheese". I took her picture but the flash was too bright.

A favorite activity is still coloring, especially in the Minnie Mouse color book. I got a pack of 24 Crayolas for $0.25 at Target this week; how thrifty am I?
